Strong engagement at SASSO’s Breeding For Value Seminar in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh poultry community gathered in Dhaka on June 16 for the Breeding For Value seminar organized by SASSO, an enriching event dedicated to improving genetics, health, and management practices in the poultry industry. Enthusiastic participation throughout the day underscored the growing importance the industry places on expertise and technical advancement.
A valuable exchange on genetics, management, and local needs
Participants appreciated the comprehensive seminar program, which covered everything from genetic improvements and R&D to practical management strategies, all tailored to the specific needs of the Bangladeshi market. Interactive question-and-answer sessions led to engaging discussions, reflecting keen interest in adopting advanced, data-driven genetic solutions to boost productivity and sustainability.
Participants also highlighted the value of practical advice on managing heat stress and improving overall production, noting that this information could be directly applied on their farms.
The event also highlighted the essential role of poultry in food security, economic development, nutrition, and employment in Bangladesh. While local consumers have a strong preference for the taste of local chickens, farmers often face productivity challenges. The SASSO breed offers a modern, proven solution, combining the traditional flavor sought by local markets with characteristics such as ease of management, disease resistance, and profitability.
Reinforcing trust and partnerships
Beyond the technical content, the seminar was an excellent networking opportunity, helping to strengthen partnerships and increase confidence in SASSO's expertise and support in the field. Many participants recognised SASSO's commitment to local R&D and practical solutions, reinforcing the company's reputation as a reliable partner in the region.
Looking ahead
This seminar reaffirmed SASSO's commitment to collaborating with Bangladesh's dynamic poultry sector. The moments spent at this seminar were both enjoyable and enriching, and we are looking forward to pursuing these fruitful discussions and contributing to a stronger and more sustainable future for poultry farming in the region.
